Hello!

I have a friend who has been in my life for years, well before hubby and kids. But it seems since i got married and we both have had kids, our lives are very different. I feel as though i can no longer talk to her, ask for advice or give advice during friendly conversation without her becoming attacking and making it a debate. My husband wants me to keep my distance for a while cos everytime im around her i feel so mentally drained and like i have had enough. I feel angry most of the time around her. I am dealing with anxiety issues at the moment, hence my need to sort things out in my life. How do you tell a friend of so many years how you really feel without them going off the handles!?!?!?!

  • Friends give you the distance and time you need to sort things out in your life. Focusing on one’s own well being is a number one priority! :)

  • I agree with the other ladies. Real friends should support you, not attack everything you say.

  • Not sure you can, just give her some space and focus on yourself. See how things go in the future and if you still want to be friends. Often just spacing the time out between contact is enough for you to drift apart.

  • As hubby says give it some space.

  • Maybe its just time to move on, without saying anything. If she was a true friend, she wouldnt attack your point of view and argue with you over everything

  • I agree with the above replies. If she is a true friend she will not be at all offended that you need a little space. Sadly as our lives change, so do our friendships and not always for the better. Hope things are looking up really soon :)

    • Friendships do change over time and people need to move with those times too.

  • agree with above if they’re a true friend they will understand. Make a time to catch up with her alone so neither of you have distractions.

  • if she is a true friend she will understand what you are going through, As I’ve learnt don’t bottle things up, talk about it before it does become to late. Chin up
