Having a premature child is no walk in the park, i hate the fact that my friends always tell me that i was so lucky i never went to term, though you know what i would of rather went to term and been so uncomfortable then to sit beside my child every day and watch them fight for their live…

I am a prem mum all my children have been prem, our first was born at 23 weeks and sadly passed away at birth, my second was born at 25 weeks weighed only 860g and spent 88 days in hospital, my 3rd was born at 33 weeks weighed only 20086g and spent 21 days in hospital and my my 4th was born at 30 weeks weighing 1606g and spent 45 days in hospital, and everyone on them had to fight for their lives,

Not annoys me more than when i hear people at 30 weeks saying how they are over it and want this baby out and just how luck i was and all this jazz, people should be grateful they can even go to term and that they get to leave the hospital with a baby in their arms, every time i left the hospital i never got to leave with my baby…

I honestly think that people need to stop complaining and just be grateful

  • Aw bless you, that’s tough all your kids born prem and having to fight for their lives. Sorry to hear one of your babies passed away. I know from expereinece that having a prem baby comes with fears, tears, concerns and stress.
Some people blur out things so easy, without thinking what they say or consider if their words may hurt the other. They simply don’t know where they’re talking about; don’t take their words to heart !

  • I cannot believe how some people think. And then not to think about how hard it would have been. Still now I am surprised by people’s ignorance. I am sorry to hear of the loss of your first baby, but am so glad to hear of the strength of your other children. You are a strong woman and good luck to you and your family!

  • Honestly, some people just don’t think before they speak! You’d never wish what you’ve been through onto anyone else but somehow I do hope they learn some compassion and to think before they make glib comments.

  • Amen to that. I agree 110% with you, anyone that can say stuff like that needs a life as they have never endured the heartache and pain and stress and depression of an emergencey delivery or NICU rooms all the beeping, buzzing, wires, leads, machines and all the nurses and doctors or even SCN rooms. My heart goes out to you, for the loss.of your little one and then the hard times of your beautiful little miracles. I had a 25 weeker and it was the longest hardest 3 months of my life, thankfully I got to be with her everyday as had to stay at Ronald McDonald House but it was hard being alone and away from home and being so scared and the day I knew I was taking my miracle home turned out to be the best day of life
