Hello!

My son is 5 years old and started prep this year. For the past 2 years he has been asking when his baby sister will be born. I have explained to him that we need to wait as I do not have a licence and getting around with 1 has been hard enough. I have a very high fear of driving and get panic attacks when sitting in the drivers seat. I am working on my fear in hopes to try for a baby sister for him as I always wanted a boy and girl. I am pushing myself to get past this in hopes we get our new little treasure soon… I just hope I can fulfil our dreams and make it happen

  • I don’t have a fear of driving myself, just a very intense dislike (think dentist visit dislike, then multiply by 10), which is why I don’t do it. My partner does not drive either, but we manage to get around ok with our son. I definitely want too have another kid in a couple of years, but don’t think I will ever drive. I like to look at the benefits of choosing to do this. It means my son is out in the fresh air at least once a week as we walk to the local shops, and everywhere else for that matter. When he is old enough to walk himself it will also mean I know he will never be short of exercise. And this is not even mentioning the health benefits for me :)

  • I know how you feel with driving. I have just got my Learners as if an emergency arises I would like to be able to drive bub/hubby where they need to go if need be. I freeze up behind the wheel in fear, but hubby is supportive and I am slowly making progress. I am hoping to have my licence by the time DD starts school, if not earlier. Best of luck with having a girl, I hope it does all work out for you. It is nice? to know I am not the only one facing the fear of driving, and I wish you all the best with it. I know it is tough but we are doing it for the right reasons, I am sure of kids will thank us when we eventually pass the test onto our P’s :)

  • I hope you get your wishes and have a girl!! If not, don’t worry, be assured a baby boy will be wonderful and two boys play very well together and will be extremely closely bonded.
