Hello!

I’m not talking about housework, I’m talking money as well an I’m trying to catch the happiness I knew existed in me. I know we’re only at the start of the year but this year is going to take every ounce of strength I have. My man is unable to work as he is suffering from a terrible disease which is affecting our relationship. The fun person I knew is no longer the same, no fault of his. The poor guy has been diagnosed with a terrible & rare disease which makes him have stroke after stroke. I’ve had so much time off work & being the breadwinner of the home our finances aren’t all that great. To say this is scary is an understatement as I can’t be at home during day. Knowing my man is having TIA’s but knowing nothing can be done about it until his operation is awful. My modest wage covers 3/4s of our expenses which have now increased dramatically due to his medication, I just want to catch up

  • Oh dear, don’t we all know about this! Life sure does throw some curve balls at us to make life difficult. Hang in there though, I’m sure things will improve

  • You need to contact Centrelink, you maybe entitled to the Carer Allowance even if you are working and if you don’t work you maybe entitled to Carer Allowance and Carer Pension, the Allowance is not means tested and the Pension is…every little bit will help. While you are working you go for the Carer Allowance first, there will be forms for hubby’s doctor to complete and for your hubby as well. All the best.

  • You must go to centrelink and get on a pension eg careers pension and take in all the details relating to your husbands condition at least you will also get a concession card for medication also.
