i hope that you all had a good christmas. Santa treated our kids well this year. they were very happy with their presents. Their grandma came to visit us after being at other relatives houses. She said that our kids were so well behaved and polite. She said that she gave gifts to her other grandchildren and none of them liked what they got and couldn’t even pretend to be happy or say thanks for the gifts. She was so happy that our children were over the moon to receive presents and so thankful and she said that they were showing here what christmas is really supposed to be about. I think that , that was so amazing to hear that especially from her when she doesn’t really talk about stuff like her emotions. I was just so proud that i seem to be doing an okay job at raising respectful little children. Manners really make a difference and even my 2 year old will say thanks mummy for anything that you give him. He asks for permission most of the time, if he wants something and this is the example that my oldest child is setting him. I really want to instill a humbleness and respectfull attitude into my children. Everywhere we go, people will comment on their manners and patience. I am very grateful to have these beautiful children.

  • It’s so lovely to hear that you have instilled a sense of gratitude, propriety and excellent manners in your children. Another person who posted is right – our children learn from the example we set for them. My son too is complimented by people on his good manners and it’s so heart warming when they do. It was particularly lovely to hear what your children’s actions meant to their grandmother, who is probably from an era where people still showed this kind of gratitude and politeness that your children displayed. I totally get the part about not showing emotions as well, and when they do it means so much to you because you know something has deeply touched them. :)

  • Manners are so important, so well done to you for teaching your kids to say thank you and be grateful and well done to them for being such lovely kids. My kids are great at showing manners and respect and I know how much it means to their grandparents so I can imagine how their grandmother felt.

    • thanks for all the comments! i know that we all try hard to teach our children these things and i think that the least that they can offer back is respect and appreciation. i want my kids to be successful and happy and manners really start it all. i want them to be good influences on the world and be kind to others. it is nice that people see this and appreciate it

  • People always comment positively on my kids’ manners too, which is lovely – but it sometimes breaks down at home!
