  • Ice cream cakes can be purchased or made with different tubs of ice cream; delicious!

  • Like the idea of letting the kids make their own ice cream cake.

  • Buy tubs, so much quicker and easier. You could buy plenty of vanilla and then some berries and puree them and mix them through a layer, or some syrup and do the same.

  • thanks every one for you advice i decided to let her make her own and it was a hit with her friends

  • you can also buy ice-cream cakes

  • I’ve made ice cream cakes in the past by buying good quality ice cream, softening it and mixing in my kids favourite treats such as m and ms and chopped frozen raspberries etc in different layers. You can also use different shades of ice cream, vanilla and chocolate etc. Good luck, I’m sure your daughter will love whatever you make.

  • Easy way you can order from ice cream shop like Baskin Robins or Cold Rock.

  • Easiest way is to buy ice cream – you can mix things into it once its soft enough then put into the tin you want.

  • when I have made it I have always bought the icecream, and left it to soften enough to be able to be placed in moulds or to have bits smooshed in, (like crushed smarties)

  • If you use a tin I think you layer it in glad wrap so that you can get it out

  • some ice cream shops also make them. But you can do either: make your own ice cream or buy it. I think Coles sells ice cream cakes too already done.

  • you can buy one from the super market or I would do the layering idea as this way you can make it from flavours she really likes

  • You go to Coles, to the icecream section and pick one out!
