Hello!

I’ve just read one of your blogs and want to write about it here. I’m feeling kind of guilty for my 14 month old that I never joined a mothers group when he was born :( When the child health nurse asked me if I wanted to join a local mothers group I said no. To be perfectly honest I was exhausted. Bub suffered from silent reflux and so I was averaging half an hours sleep a night. I could hardly manage to drag myself off the lounge to go to the lop let alone get showered and dressed and go out and meet new people. Also as an older mum (37) I felt insecure about meeting mums who I was sure would be nearly half my age. But now I’m wondering if I was being selfish and made the wrong choice as it would have been awesome to have a group of friends my little man could grow up with who are the same age.

  • You can still join a parents groups, there’s no age limit. There’s always a lot of guilt involved with parenting

  • It’s never to late to join a play group. We moved interstate when my littles were 3 & 2 and joined up straight away.

  • I wasn’t sure either as I was 40 with my last child but decided to join and have found some new friends and also found that most them are in the later 30’s which is also great for me. you can just go to any play centre have a look most of them you can join a group at the time that suits you. We Joint a centre as a mothers group and had others joinng our group.
