Hello!

So, I had reached week 40 in my pregnancy and had not even felt the littlest sign that my baby was coming. The dr left me for a week, and still nothing, so he decided to do a stretch and sweep and hope for the bestt. It didnt work, not even an inkling. So as I went into hospital 2days later for a trace I thought I would be induced, but nope, he decided to leave me for the weekend and induce on monday if bub haddent made an appearance, thinking he would scare it out of me. Well, it didnt work eithet! So I waddled into hospital 8o clock monday morning and had my waters broken at 9.30. I walked up and down a hoill until 12.30 hoping I would start having contractio/s, but nothing happened, this was a stubborn baby! At 12.50 they gave me syntocin and within minutes I started having contractions! They were less then a minuteapart! By 5o clock I was ready to push! Half an hour of pushing and out came my gorgeous girl! No pain meds, no interventions and only 1 tiny stitch! I was so scared to be induced before I had my girl because everyone t(ld me their horror stories. I read that with induction u are certain to need intervention ie. Forceps, suction or ceaser. This is crap! Dont believe it. So if u r overdue and have a fear of beeing induced, dont panic. Take every contraction as it comes, each one brings bub closer. Relax!

  • Thanks for this I was due yesterday and feeling a little bewildered and frustrated at still being pregnant. I haven’t heard many positive induction stories – only the horror ones
