My pop (Dad’s Dad) is 90 years of age and he’s done well in his life, he’s been to war and had a family with 2 beautiful children and they’ve grown up and had children (being us) and we’ve grown up and a having children so he has 2 children, 4 grandchildren and at the moment 5 great grandchildren and another one on the way.

A couple of days ago we got the phone call to say an ambulance has been called and pop is in hospital, he’s had a stroke and at this point in time he cant talk, read and he doesn’t know anyone. My Aunt visited him (his daughter) and he didn’t even know who she was… The doctor’s said that he may get his memory back or may not, it’s just a waiting game now, we have to wait and see.

I know at some stage my pop is going to die, everyone dies. But I really don’t want him to! He means the world to me and has so many stories that he’s told us, he’s had an awesome life and if its his time, then I can’t stop it. I will miss him like crazy but will remember the fun times we had. I just hope he hangs on a bit longer to at least see his next great grandchild that is due in November and that his memory comes back.

I love him so much and hope his memory comes back and he gets better.

Its just a waiting game for now!
