Hello!

I had 5 days last week with out my husband at home. The longest we’ve been apart in the 10 yeas we’ve been together. And I now have a glimpse of what a single parent might feel. I had to be so much more organised in getting uniforms ready for school, meals cooked while the babies slept, accepting help from neighbours and trying to keep it all together. After three days I was exhausted and broke down when my car battery died and my 19 month old snapped my glasses!

So, I’d like to commend those who are doing it on your own. You’re doing a grat job, even if it doesn’t feel like it! Your kids will appreciate you and all that you do! And remember to find a support network to keep you sane…hey MoM is a great star!

  • Thank you, not many people realize how difficult it is to raise children on your own, however I think that children from single parent households seem to understand and perhaps do not have the same expectations of time spent with them as 2 parent homes, as sad as it is, it is just not possible for one parent to cook dinner whilst the other baths the kids or reads a book, so I suppose we all adjust and adapt to our circumstances. But congratulations on surviving the week, now perhaps you can go away and leave hubby in charge.
