Hello!

I am glad there will be an inquiry into the live animal export industry. It is horrific to watch the footage and read the articles on this story. There is a reason for regulations and these need to be followed. A big thanks to the people that are brave enough to investigate these issues and bring them to public attention.

  • I agree. What we do to animals is sickening. They are living things the same as us and deserve our respect. Just because we are the dominant species does not mean that we need to exploit that. We should be protecting animals for future generations.

  • I agree with you, but sadly i dont know that it will be stopped anytime soon while their is a demand for it.

    • It is bad enough that they are transported to the abbatoirs in trucks, but at least they are specially designed for that purpose. They are “packed” in so that they cannot fall over or get thrown about when going around bends while travelling
Any animal regardless of type or species should be killed humanely. They definitely should never be put in ships.
They must be allowed to run free in huge open areas with plenty of good quality food and a constant fresh supply of water. Some people actually keep animals as pets for their children, the odd sheep that they are responsible to feed and give fresh water. A lamb may need bottle feeding in the early stages. It is good experience, fun and as I stated above fosters resonibility. They have to be taught how to care for them by parents or other repsonsible person with the knowledge to do so. Adults can also assist by making a shelter to protect them from bad weather. Normally a flock would huddle together to keep each other warm during the cold weather. A sheep will appreciate ample shade in warm/hot weather too.

  • I just wonder why we don’t get equally outraged about the cruel way refugees are treated?

    • I am outraged by all acts of abuse. Unacceptable in every form.

  • Eating less meat is better for health reasons. I wish governments would give this message. And tax/treat the meat industry according to the global health costs associated with meat consumption. It might help those animals (haven’t seen the video).
