Hello!

I’ve been wondering ever since I had my first child at 21 yrs about the “Mother’s image”. Every time I look in the mirror I think- hm I don’t really fit the mother stereotype. Why do we imagine that mothers wear t-shirts and cargo pants? Because I’ve seen plenty of mothers who fit that bill.

I am now 26 turning 27 this year and I do not even own a pair of cargo pants lol. I like to look fresh, feminine and sexy. These days my wardrobe consists of vintage style dresses. I love colored flats for busy days. I dye my hair red- I like to stand out!

I don’t think mothers should change and conform into the sterotypes. I have decided I am me and I like the way I look. Life is too short- I treasure each day and smile all the day. My world is so bright and I’m keeping it that way.

I think that all mothers no matter your age or style can find a little way to show some oomph and style. Bring out your inner vixen and remember amidst the diapers and vomit YOU are still YOU- so look like YOU now :-)

  • Well done! I hope more mums feel free to just be themselves. We may be mothers but first and foremost we are ourselves :-) Thanx for sharing.

  • I am with you on this one. With my many tattoos, several piercings and love of black clothes, I don’t exactly fit the normal mum image. I am just glad my friends and family are so accepting of me just wanting to be me, even now my son is here
