I took some of the advice from this site and took control of my Mother’s Day this year. It ended up being a really enjoyable day for me, instead of like last year where I cleaned the house and got up early with the baby and generally was in a funk because life wasn’t fair. This year I planned everything out and had a lovely day. I didn’t expect anything from my partner as he’s from a family that don’t really do gifts or occasions, but to my surprise, when I got home from shopping for my Mother’s Day present the house was spotless and the toddler gave me some bath products daddy had help him pick out for me. I’m definitely going to follow the same approach and be proactive next year too!
