Hello!

We were trying to get pregnant but we didn’t expect it to happen so quickly, after being together 10 years and no accidents i thought it might take a while to get pregnant if we could at all. So i found out at 5 weeks or so. Everything wad good just low in vit D since i worked night shift. All scans were good. At 25 weeks i found out i had gestational diabetes.

I was so angry. I have never gad anything wrong with me. I had to control my diet an check my blood glucose levels. It was pretty easy although very annoying. Constantly making sure you ate and checked your blood levels after 2 hours although it did force me to eat mostly healthy which was good and i lost a bit of weight. Further scans were good and my pregnancy bar the diabetes was perfect. My son was born and they didn’t take him to intensive care because my diet was well controlled and his blood glucose levels were good also i got to keep him. The doctors were great. My son was perfect. After we left the hospital we went for a check up on the 5th day.

My son had heart murmur. They reckon they cant detect it in hospital sometimes but i still doubt that. We went to a cardiologist confirming 2 holes only small. But more concerning was the thickened artery. A procedure would have to be done. I thought i did everything right with my pregnancy. I quit smoking over a year before he was conceived too. My son is still perfect and we await his procedure day, all will be fine :)
