AAAARRRRGGGHHHH. What on earth makes people think they have the right to question my weight?????

Yes I am fat. No I have no choice about this. Years ago an undiagnosed medical condition caused the weight to stack on, and there is precious little I can do to shift it. Do people think I WANT this???

I am fed up with the “well meaning we just care about you” friend/relative who thinks I owe them an explaination.

I am sick to death of the complete stranger who will try and tell me what I should/should not be doing – eating – buying – wearing…

I DO NOT shove my head in the fridge. I DO NOT overeat and under excersize. And of course I worry about what will happen when my daughter goes to school – will she be teased becasue of the way I look?

I am used to being shunned in social situations by the “yummy mummy” club. I will never get used to but accept the “oh my good you are disgusting get out of my sight” look from some thin women and men.

I know there a jobs I will not get, clothing stores who will ask me to leave, gyms that demand I pay extra and only go at certain times.

But it makes my blood boil to find myself meekly apologising and trying to explain the way I look, and essentially justifying myself to everyone and anyone because I am different.

If I was black, yellow, purple with pink polja dots, disabled, differently abled, blind, deaf, gay, catholic, muslim, jewish etc it would count as discrimination, but I am fat, therefore it is open season…
