Hello!

I have moved house more times than I can easliy count. (I run out of fingers and toes)
This is the longest I have ever lived in one house. Just a few weeks ago I was thinking how much I like it here.
Maybe I jinxed myself, as, sure enough, along came that dreaded letter – the rent is going up.
Now we are paying storage fees as well as rent, and just cannot afford both, so I need to reant somewhere bigger for the same or cheaper. This means moving to an area I really do not want to. Damnations!!
The thought of packing, moving, cleaning, agent inspections, struggling to find the bond etc.
I just feel right now like lying on the ground, beating my fists and feet into the carpet and crying “I DON’T WANNA!!!!”

  • Don’t blame you ,it’s sad these days can’t find long term rentals .We waited yrs for government home even this has a 10 year lease ! Hang in there .could always have garage sale ,to lessen the move load .

  • It takes a lot of work and effort to move.

  • I don’t know what you’re storing or why, but is there any way to stop paying that? Then maybe you could stay. I hate moving too.

  • Ohhh you poor bugger. I feel your pain. moving has to be one of the most horrible things to do in life. It feels like starting over and having to go through the process of packing and unpacking. I really hope things start to look up for you soon hun

  • Thanks! I still reckon the worst move EVER I had to move by public transport. Imagine getting on a bus with a string of saucepans around your neck and a rolled and tied up mattress…

  • Good luck! We were in the same situation previously and funnily enough we found that the cost off actually moving was not much different to the increase in rent for 12 months! But that depends on how much the rent is rising by… Unfortunately vacancies are so low that landlords can afford to keep putting prices up.
