Hello!

I had my bub three months ago. Whilst I was pregnant I had the best skin. A true glow. It was oily prior to being pregnant. Then as soon as I was pregnant all those hormones went to work and my skin was perfect. Now…after having bub, my skin has decided to hate me. I thought blemished skin was over after teenage years. Well wasn’t I wrong. I now have the worst oily skin and hair. Blemishes all over the place. I have tried so many different types of products for combination and oily skin, they all seem the same. I have spent a fortune. What do you use and does it work??

  • Maybe; go product free for a while? Use basic skin care items.

  • You might have a hormonal imbalance if you haven’t had it like this before , get your doctor to refer you to a dermatologist. Also cetaphil is really good to what and moisturise your skin.

  • your body will still be going through hormone changes as bub is not that old and as I do not know if you are breast feeding but their are alot of things going on. Have a chat to you GP and see what they suggest or even your local chemist as they should have a great idea on what works and what is just a waste of money. I can not give you any personal insight as I have never really suffered at all I just get one pimple at that time of the month.

    • Thank you. Yes I am breast feeding so still have a number of crazy hormones. I’m on the mini pill as well.

  • I think it is the continual change of hormones after you have a baby. I hardly had a pimple or blemish until I was having my son and after. If you take a contraceptive pill there are a few that can help reduce oiliness in the skin and hair. I believe Yaz is one that claims to do so but it is expensive, as it’s not subsidised on the PBS. If it’s really bad you could try using Benzac products available from a pharmacy. Phisohex is also an anti bacterial wash to help with acne that is gentle on the skin.
