Hello!

My 10month old son has been in the wars for the past month, split chin, ear infections, dropping percentiles since birth, throat infections, eczema, you name it!

This is not so much of a blog post, but I am beside myself on the inside, husband is stressed to the max, don’t know where else to turn. After 2 doctors visits yesterday my son was admitted to hospital. We have had blood tests taken today and am awaiting the results as they are worried he may have Leukaemia. Leukaemia? For peats sake! No one deserves that let alone a 10month old! Does anyone know who is best to see for treatment? Am willing to travel anywhere! Names of hospitals, doctors, any recommendations? TIA

  • Well it has been a while since you posted this and your son was in the best place the hospital and they would have put you in touch with the right specialists.

  • Yeahy! we got out of the hospital this morning. Got the all clear- but he does have tonsillitis and a viral infection. after talking to other people- one of the signs for Leukaemia is a inflamed throat so they test just to be sure. So if anyone reads this and has the same experience, its not always negative! phew!

    • So happy you got good results. One sign of leukemia is that bruises just don’t disappear. Kids even those who have been walking independently for a few months start falling over or walking into things a lot.
My little sister didn’t have Leukaemia, she just managed to get into mischief every day for about a week ( including climbing out of his cot) and each time she skun her nose.

  • I am so sorry, that must be awful. My daughter has a condition called cockayne syndrome, we spend a lot of time at the childrens hospital and every doctor/nurse have been wonderful, so once you get the blood results back, and you need more help, get referrals to the Childens hospital, not sure where you live, we are in Melbourne. I do understand what you are going though, but it’s best to be positive and I really hope for the best for you and your little one.
