Hello!

OK so earlier this year I finally saved up enough to redo my kitchen. It was fantasitc, choosing colours, buying new appliances, ripping out the old. It was a lot of hard work but finally I got everything in. I had plumbers to do the dishwasher and redo the pipes to the sink, and electricians to do their bits. Everything was going smoothly and I loved my lovely kitchen.

Until… this morning I was looking for something I dropped under the counter (I have not yet installed the kickboards) and to my horror a black stain is creaping up from the floorboards on my lovely 4 month old blue boards. Upon further investigation the taps installed by the plumber for the dishwasher… ARE LEAKING!! It broke my heart, I have had so many set backs with this project but honestly if you pay a professional you expect a professional job!! now the whole cupboards have to be pulled out again to allow access for them to be repaired and to replace the blue board (water proof hideously expensive jib boarding.)

  • Gosh I can relate I have had some absolute horror trade stories too!

  • That’s so frustrating and disappointing for you! We built our house and plumbers were the one trade we had a lot of trouble with. Hopefully things aren’t too bad for you and it’s fixable.

  • AS the wife of a plumber, find out what caused it first… we had one do the same and it was a faulty tap, there was no way we could have known it was faulty when installed. It had water-tested with no issues too. So please don’t automatically blame the tradie!!
