My boys use to fight all the time so i had to come up with some solutions. As youve all probably tried those behaviour charts etc to change childrens behaviour. It depends upon the child whether they change or not. I dont expect any changes overnight. I use to do cooking. Then the children got the dishes for punishment or no cakes. Then another is to hold hands. They pull apart and automatically forgets what they were fighting against.

  • I agree with simple strategies when kids are little, and then bigger ones when older!

  • I love your holding hands strategy, similar to putting kids in a large size Tshirt that they both have to wear together.

  • I try and separate my boys if they fight or they lose phones, computers etc. I like the hold hands idea – being 13 and 10 that could be interesting

  • Simple strategies when kids are little and then more complex strategies as they get older, where they have to think and problem solve situations as they get older.

    • I like the sound of thinking and problem solving strategies, sometimes they just need to stop and think / reflect

      • These are skills kids need to develop and they will serve them well into the teenage years and into adulthood. Everyone does need to stop and reflect. Glad you agree! :)

      • Just got to get them past the blaming each other game
