Hello!

KYLIEL, I totally agree with you. I love that my kids are so innocent and I don’t want them to grow up thinking guns are just a toy in everyday life! Both myself and my husband grew up on farms and there were always guns in our households, from an early age we were taught that they are not a toy, but are to be respected for the power (and danger) they hold and how to use one under adult supervision (shooting feral rabbits and dogs, putting down cattle etc). I hate the fact that there are so many toy guns available, as guns were never considered a toy when I was growing up. I don’t see pretending to use a weapon and ‘kill’ things as creative play.

  • I know you posted this a while ago, but this is one of my pet peeves. We try so hard to educate safety of guns on a mates farm and what they can do. But unfortunately we know we cannot control what other kids parents let them play or watch at home.
But we won’t stop teaching our kids our beliefs.

  • I grew up in the country and have been around guns my whole life and I have been teaching my kids the same thing I was taught.
