Hello!

I am absolutely horrified and deeply saddened by the recent news stories this week on the brutal and senseless deaths of young children. I am not shocked as it happens so often in many communities. The innocent are senselessly taken in vicious and unimaginable ways and it is unjust in every way.

How do we tackle this crime? Tougher penalties? Awareness campaigns? Lifelong education on not accepting violence and in not being violent? I do not have the answers.

I do support charities that campaign against violence and protect women and children. Let’s not take it anymore, let every woman and man say “no” to violence.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to every family that has lost a child through violence.

  • The causes are complex, so solutions will be too.

  • i don’t think that there is a clear cut, one size fits all, solution so i will put my theory forward. We fix all these problems with society by getting the family structures sorted out. Too many moral-less people who then go on to have 10 kids etc and they are there for none of them. Not enough people are able to rely on their family so go it alone. Many people have addictions etc. So many problems and no family structures to keep people grounded and stable.

  • It breaks my heart. Rosie batty has made a stand against family violence Australia wide after the death of her son Luke
in Victoria in 2016 all children will be educated at school regarding anti violence.
I’m not sure about other states

    • I was fortunate to attend a conference with Rosie Batty and her story and Luke’s story is moving and motivational. She is tireless in campaigning and the message is strong and clear – we need to educate and change our families and communities to empower and protect them.

      • Rosie is amazing. I remember the night Luke died and the story unfolded. I sign every partition rosies asks to be signed. You are correct, we need to change everywhere and fast

      • Glad to read that Victoria is doing this campaign in schools – fantastic.
