Hello!

My 2nd son and his partner are expecting in early September, she is pass the first trimester and all looks good. They lost the last one and I was surprised to know for sure that what I suspected was correct. I can not feel happy for them until I see that baby in its parents arms. I was wondering if this is because it was another unplanned pregnancy , wished they were better off money wise and housing wise.
Myself we had a wash basket for the oldest and was thankful for donations of clothing. I was hoping my own children would have it better. Well here is hoping my son will take some of my youngsters things as they are only 14 months old. Yes my children are wide spread in age ranging from 31 years to 14 months old twins, like two or maybe three separate families. As it is a first for me and the the other grandparents it will be well loved, just will not do anything incase something happens. My son is hoping for his 30th birthday present or Father Day present,

  • 1 in 4 pregnancies results in a loss – I never took pregnancy for granted. Hope it all worked out positively

    • I never realised the loss rate was so high. I know the risk is much higher in the first 12 weeks. That’s one of the reasons most parents-to-be don’t tell anybody until after then unless there is a lot of “morning” sickness (some it is all day/night) and work or other commitments have to be advised of your absence too often. Some wait until it starts to become obvious before telling too many people……I agree with the statement that too many parents expect to have so many unnecessary items for their baby. You can put baby straight into a cot. You have to have a convertible babyseat or capsule by law. One thing we used a lot was a sturdy stroller that baby could lay in and go to sleep in when we went walking or out & about in general. When buying one make sure it folds up and down easily, the handles aren’t too low (you don’t want sore back and shoulders leaning over to push it) and it wheels well. Strollers with big wheels take up more boot space are heavier to lift in too.

  • That’s sad that you’re not getting excited because the first one was lost :( Enjoy it for what it is for however long it lasts…..a new life, a grand baby. Everyone focuses too much on what might happen instead of going with what us happening

  • i understand. it is a painful journey and you don’t want to invest monetarily or emotionally until you see the baby is ok. i hope that it all is!

  • i believe if a child is well loved and has family and friends around that helps the parents with support then you don’t need a lot of the materialistic things.there are rich people out there that could give a child anything its heart desires but are to self absorbed to even notice that love and guidance is best.Good luck to your son hope all goes well
