Hello!

On the first day of school holidays my daughter of course wakes up at 7am in the morning (which is earlier than she ever gets up for school) and immediately she says “what are we doing today? I’m on holidays!!”

I am hoping this isn’t an indicator of me having to entertain and head out every day. I would like to know when a mum’s holiday is!!!

On the up side I am looking for a range of fun activities for the kids to do that aren’t going to cost me the earth. We went to the waterfront and played on the play equipment. This cost me a small amount of petrol.

We then had to get bread and milk from the supermarket and they had free face painting and balloon animals – score!!!

I have checked out some activities at the local shopping centres and there actually is a few cool free activities for the kids.

Hope everyone has a great holiday with their kids!

  • go to the cheap shop or gather pieces throughout the term so that you can have a surprise art and craft box. We pull this out and the kids love it. Buy things like feathers, paint, pom poms, googly eyes and pipe cleaners. If you have space, keep milk bottles and bottle lids, buy some wool, and glue, glitter, anything really and let the kids get creative! Get a big cardboard box to put it in or a plastic tub. Spend as much or as little money as you like.
