Hello!

We took our children to Bali last year and they girls made some lovely friends with the local kids. Ever since they have been writing to each other, with my daughter sending her stamps and writing paper as she understands they are not as luck as us.

On the weekend our friends went to Bali so my daughter went through her toys and clothes and asked my friend to give them to her pen pal! She was so moved, she got her daughter to do the same thing and they ended up taking a huge suitcase filled with goodies and promised to take a photo for Bek.

Bek has decided to get all her friends to give something for next time we go over. I love that my daughters understand we do live in the lucky country and that helping others it a great start to a wonderful life ahead!

  • How wonderful. It’s great that she can make a difference to someone less fortunate in a way that is meaningful to both her as the giver and also for the receiver. Lovely story. You must be very proud.

  • Try and move to another area or another family milieu next time. Those who might have had, might not be needing so much this time. It is good to share!!

    • Thanks great idea. I was thinking of getting everyone at work to donate something to take to the orphanage

  • Its lovely that you’ve taken the opportunity to teach your children how lucky we are in the world living in Australia and that there are other children not so well off that they can help with their kindness. I love that they send stamps and paper etc.
