I have just come back from coffee with my friend whos 14 year old son has just recovered from a bout of food poisoning. What she is cross about is how it was all handled. and I have to say I was shocked too. He was with another family and at 1am he felt funny started shaking and sweating and then started vomiting and woke the parents to say what has happened and he is not feeling well. He was told to go back to bed!! half an hour later and after vomiting for the 4th time and also the other end he woke the parents again and said he was in a bad state, he had no clean clothes or sleeping bag. again told to go away and go back to sleep. He found a phone and rang his parents who jumped in the car to come and pick him up straight away. What person particularly parent would not respond to an unwell child? Poor child.

  • I wonder if they treat the own child/children the same.
The boy would have had to have the courage to go into other parents’ bedroom. I definitely would not allow a sleepover at that house again.

  • That’s true, they do have someone else’s child in their care, they should have been more cautious. At least got up to have a look, check on him ,see just how sick he was. I wouldn’t be letting him sleep there again!
