Hello!

The last long shower, the last late breakfast the last sleep in for 10 weeks. I have loved the holidays and are very sad to see them go. The high light of the holidays has been letting each child have a night to cook dinner. Love the next stage of parenthood. I hope the next 10 weeks so quickly

  • We aren’t here yet but I’m stressed about it already. How do people have enough holidays to cover them and take time off work to be with the kids?!
I’ll have to save my leave for years to be able to take this much leave for one year!

  • I’m with you, I love school holidays. Don’t have to rush to get all 4 kids out the door on time, not a million after school activities. They are the best.

  • Wow, I haven’t come across too many parents who look forward to holidays and are sad to see them end. It is nice to see it for a change

  • I havent yet reached the schooling section of my childs life. You make it sound so good. Everyone I talk to dreads the drop off/pick up routine but also hates the school holidays. Just cant win!

  • Good on you Pakeko for enjoying this time with your kids & allowing them to play an important role in meal planning! It is lovely not having to be rushed with the kiddies, & they must feel the same too! The next holidays aren’t that far away.

  • Alas, I work full-time so holidays tend to still have the same routine as usual.

  • With 6 kids running around (plus the various cousins and friends) it’s a frenzy on the holidays! But a frenzy I too am sad to see over =)

  • Great idea letting the kids cook dinner. I love when my girls decide to cook dinner. I’ve had to tell them to use what we have at home though, because they would buy all these ingredients to cook and each meal was costing more than going out for dinner!
