Hello!

For many years I have been a blood donor. I have donated 70 times. Lately though, I’ve been too busy, too tired, or the kids have been sick. Today I decided no more excuses – I will find the time now that all the Winter illnesses have gone (hopefully)!

It feels so good to be able to help by doing very little, and it really only takes an hour of my time, so I am determined to get back into donating. Maybe if I try to see it as some “me time ” (sitting still, child free, a biscuit and a drink afterwards…) I might be more likely to take the time and go! If it’s something you’ve ever thought about, why not do it? No time like the present…

  • I have donated both blood and plasma. Unfortunately I’m just recovering from an illness and recently my white blood cells and neutrophils were up, so that counts me out for a while.

  • You are a wonderful person!! I used to donate all the time until I started trying for a baby and they old me to book me in and the lady said not to donate until after I had finished having kids (and wasn’t breastfeeding anymore) and then she finished off by saying “good luck! I hope you fall pregnant soon!” With such a lovely voice and you could feel the smile coming through the phone it was very sweet x
