If you or your loved ones ever go swimming and use goggles chances are the goggles fog up after a while. Often it is no problem to clean but at other times it can be a real annoyance. This tip I gleaned (from a book not the Internet!) really does work. It is so simple: just wash the goggles after use, smear some washing-up liquid on the lenses (inside and out), rinse again and leave to dry. If you do this everytime after you use the goggles I’ve found them to be good for 2 hours with no misting, If you do it less frequently they still last up to 30 minutes with no fogging (depending on other swim conditions of course!).

  • Great tip. I am curious though, does the detergent cause any level of smearing? I am picturing a cloudy smeary lens

    • No. I’m not sure what the detergent does but I’ve also tried using it on regular spectacles and found that hard to remove smears go.. drying the lens carefully is important with the glasses but I let the goggles dry naturally and they are never smeary.
