Hello!

My little girl had spent the last few months talking about having a ‘Barbie-party’ for her birthday. We’d moved to a new house with a pool & I had all these plans of a Barbie beach party for her with mermaids & yummy goodies & gorgeous decorations.

About 2 weeks before the big day, she decided she no longer wanted a Barbie party, but instead she wanted Cars – specifically the scene where Mater & Lightning McQueen go tractor tipping – how on earth am I going to do that?

After much Googling & Pinteresting I found plenty of Lightning & Mater inspiration, but the tractor was rather difficult to find, so I had to make something up myself. I must admit I’m rather proud of the cupcakes I came up with. So much so I had to share them on my blog (loving lunches.blogspot.com.au if you’re interested) and of course Facebook.

Now she’s started talking about a ‘Dora’ party for next year. . .I think I’ll leave it until the last minute to plan this time :-)

  • Sometimes they change their favourite toy/show about every 6 – 8 weeks.
Yes, I suggest you wait until closer the time next year. Hopefully she won’t change her mind quite so often as she grows up. I think they are hard to keep up with when they are toddlers. 3 changes of “I love these” so far this year.
