Hello!

Hi everyone,
With Valentine’s Day fast approaching I would just like to suggest this Valentine’s to share the LoVe and I do not mean simply between partners. I would like all to celebrate by sharing the LoVe with Family, Friends and the Community. Try to do a good deed, visit a lonely person, spend some special time with the children, have a family get together and enjoy a lovely meal, visit a nursing home, the list is endless. There are so many single folks out there and Valentine’s seems to focus on couples, so my wish goes out to YOU singles, embrace your freedom and enjoy yourself. Single gals, organise a day out shopping (perhaps) with your single friends and enjoy a coffee or meal. Guys grab all your single mates and (perhaps) go fishing. Now if you say BUT all my friends are in relationships, search to see if there is a reverse Valentine’s in your area/or celebrations for singles on Valentine’s Day in your area.
Below is a you tube clip link that will have you in stitches.

“It’s the most fun you can have by yourself!” – David Hoh.

So singles have fun with other singles or have a reverse Valentine’s on the 14th or have a day full of good deeds to all, but most importantly LoVe yourself and enjoy your day.

Now if I may I would like to share with you my lead up to Valentine’s. At Christmas I gave to the “Wishing Tree” also gave food and gifts to a local place that provides a range of culturally appropriate services for people in our communities experiencing domestic violence and homelessness. I decided that instead of just helping at Christmas that this year I would like to help throughout the year as well ..so when I see needed food on special (sometimes) 1/2 price I purchase it and put it aside to create a gift hamper for the needy. At present I have a box of Vita Brits, 3 boxes of gluten free cranberry wild rice and a bottle of petrochemical and paraben free children’s body wash that I will take over to the emergency accommodation to use for mum’s and children that have fled domestic violence etc. I am hoping to do the hamper thing at different times through the year and just knowing that a child and battered parent receives some extra help and love is thanks enough for me.

So to conclude I am sending all my LoVe and wishes to all, young, old, all skin coloured, all religions and races, in general EVERYONE, have a wonderful, fun and fulfilling Valentine’s Day and year.

Love and Light
cherz.

  • Our children have always given lil valentines gifts to their friends, cousins, siblings, grand parents & even us (their parents).. Valentines day isn’t all about romance, it is about appreciating people, and showing you care!

  • I love to make it a special day for my daughter, my parents still do the same for me (and now my daughter too). I agree it shouldn’t just be for couples.

  • My husband and I always get flowers, some chocolate and I bake some cookies with my daughter to give them as they’re both single and we don’t want them to miss out on feeling super loved.
I definitely like the idea of helping others feel loved on the day too.

  • A lovely idea….spread the love. A good suggestion and we can all do a little to make someone else feel loved and special and included. It makes the world a better place.

  • This is a lovely idea! I’m due to give blood the week or Valentine’s day and have a stack of books and DVD’s to deliver to the hospital – usually I do it for the kids ward but this year I will put in some books for other wards too.

    • That’s such a beautiful idea. You’ve inspired me to do the same.
