So being 36 weeks and 6 days pregnant I decided to kick a soccer ball at a family BBQ, not knowing it could do any damage to which I strained some ligaments in my pelvic area, that night I went to hospital and they game me some panadein forte to help with the pain. Later that night I was in pain but didn’t take any notice of it as I thought it was from the strain, as I tried to get out of bed It felt like I wet myself so I called out to my partner and he come to check on me we weren’t sure if it was my waters breaking so I just slept it off but was up every 2 hours to goto the toilet. By 8am I was having contractions they were 10mins apart so my partner left to take his son home and I called my mum to come over and keep me company. I called her again at 930am and she said she would be over soon, 1130am and she finally rocks up she had fallen back askeep, by that time my contractions were 2 mins apart, I was 2 weeks early so mum had to pack my hospital bag before we could leave, just as we got in the car my partner got back and we told him to meet us at the hospital. Once I got there at 12pm iI was waiting in the assessment ward and because I wasn’t sure if my waters had broken they didn’t think I was in labour, after checking the noticed I was 7cm dialated, they then rushed me to a delivery room. My partner still hadnt arrived and I was angry at mum because she was 2 hours late. My partner finally arrived and I felt a little more relaxed by this time I was asking for something for the pain I was told it was too late for pain relief and that with 2 big pushes bubs would be out. It was time and they were right after a couple big pushes our beautiful daughter was in my arms born at 12.29pm with nothing but 2 panadien forte as pain relief taken at home just 29mins of being at the hospital and my 1st child was born it all happened so quick and the 1st thing I said once she was born was “I’m hungry” so they bought me a sandwhich and my partner fed it to me while they were finishing up, it took longer to stitch up the grazes then it did to give birth, I was very lucky and thankful that my 1st birth went so quick and could do it without pain relief.
