Hello!

One of my very favorite parent-poems is:

Cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow

For babies grow up

We’ve learned

to our sorrow

So quiet down cobwebs

Dust go to sleep

I’m rocking my baby

And babies don’t keep!

And this week, I am fully embracing it! I have a house full of sick babies that just want to watch movies and cuddle on the couch. So the washing up is piling up, the washing baskets are full, the toys and books are scattered and the Disney movies are on repeat. A small part of me is niggling to get to it, but then I look over at my once baby-boy, to a 4-month old that is already seeming way too big for my liking!

And in realizing this, it’s more important than ever just to relax and spend time doing, oh nothing in particular, just so long as it’s with my little cherubs.

  • Yep, I have many days like this. As they say, the housework never goes away! So spend time with those who need it

  • I agree with you whole-hearted, some days everything has to wait while I look after and spend time with my kids.

  • Absolutely right! Just don’t let things get totally out of hand like me. When my kids were little I loved spending time with them so I never seemed to get all the ironing done. Finally I made a huge effort and when I got through the piles of clothes I discovered a whole lot were now too small. Oops!

  • Thankfully I got help from my in laws to do washing for several month when I gave birth my son. So I can spend more time with my baby.
