Hello!

My mother in law had a period of being a pretty full on alcoholic and she was destroying relationships all around her. I am a big believer in sticking with your family through thick and thin and i have given her so many chances. She has not really spent time with our kids and she hasn’t really been a good grandmother but she has recently given up drinking. I thought that it would be nice for her to spend time with the kids so we provided her with movie tickets and some money for the day. She spent hours and hours with them and they really enjoyed it. She is picking them up tomorrow as well. I am beyond thankful that she has stopped drinking and i can see that she is back to the person that i met 10 years ago. The kids had a great time. I am glad that they spent time with her. I am hoping that she keeps it together and stays a positive part of our lives.

  • That’s fantastic, not only that she was able to turn her life around, but that you have been to sportive and accepting. My father was a sever alcoholic my whole life (and most of his). I would have loved for him to be a part of my kids lives, unfortunately he never made it that far. Enjoy your time as a family xx
