Just wanting to know if you have solar have you notice a good difference in your power bill. We have got a 5kg which goes up to 6kw inverter and 24 250 watt panels and really not a huge difference in our bill yet. Don’t get me wrong my bills are cheaper but my repayments out way the savings by a mile. I just got my bill and with pensioner discount and my 5% discount it just says all credits $150 so I think this includes the solar.

  • I live in a rental property which has solar hot water with gas instant hot water service as back-up. I am not sure Instant Hot Water is what it is “cracked up to be” Even the Gas part has to be plugged into the power. A relative of mine doesn’t have solar at all but has a Gas Instant Hot Water System which also has to be plugged into the electricity. Her electricity bill has gone up so it must be using some electricity. “False Economy”??? It takes a long time to recoup what you pay for Solar System unless you have extremely high electricity usage. It could also be that a building or trees are shading your panels too much.

  • Thanks for asking this good question; thinking of solar and looking for information and opinions.

  • We’re thinking about getting solar power, and I’d really appreciate any recommendations from other mums about systems and companies that you’d recommend to use, or that you’ve had problems with. It’s hard to know which system is right, and I’d rather go on personal recommendations.

  • I was talking to someone that has solar power and their bill was only $23, how good would that be!

  • I would love solar power, but l live in government housing and e are not entitled to the solar rebate. Why would l get solar and pay way more than others when money is already tight and if l move l cannot take it with me. It seems they want us to get in control of our money and move out yet they’re doing everything to make sure we cannot get ahead and afford to move we are stuck. I don’t run my heater or dryer and limit light etc. It’s beyond a joke.

  • We have found a big difference in our bill. It all comes down to the system you bought. So far all of our bills have been in credit. Sure we are still paying off the system but once that is done (about 3 years) it will be worth it!
