Who in their right mind would take in a teenage girl. Such a selfish age. No consideration for anyone else. Never contributes around the house. Comes home late. Why, why, why?
She is so funny. We laugh every day. A chance to guide a young woman. Someone to share clothes and shoes with. It evens out the male female balance in the house. Plays amazing guitar and sings
I guess it’s

  • Awww I feel you! Teenagers are hard especially female!

  • i think that maybe we are supposed to read it like this

“why would i want to clean up dog poo when it is gross and stinks?,
oh yeah it’s because i get so much love and companionship from a pet which is great”

something along those lines and i just wanted to use my own example to demonstrate it.

    • Possibly you are on the right track mom94125! I re read it and this makes sense! :)

      • thankyou! it would be nice if the post had got finished but they published before they were ready. oh well :)

  • I think we’re all a bit lost…?? Is there more to this story?

  • I loved my teenage Daughter and the one who has just turned 13 and never had a problem with them except for the 13 year old towers over me and from all my weight loss keeps sneaking up on me and scooping me up in her arms and scaring the shivers out of me but we have fun

  • Um… where is the rest of the story? I dont find it helpful to be so harsh about someone. If they arent doing things correctly or how you want them to be done, then guide her, dont trash her. Just saying.

  • Wondering if there is a second part to this story? It seems to have finished mid way and confused a lot of us. Could you post the full version, as we would all like to hear your experience, I’m sure :)

    • I agree with these comments; is there more information?

  • A little bit confused with this one, but sounds quite harsh.I dont have older children, but I remember being a teenager and I wasnt that great of one either. Maybe take a step back and breathe. Speak to your hubby/partner and see what you can both do to help this girl and your situation.

  • I am sorry but I just don’t understand your story at all. First you criticise then you are talking about laughing..I am lost. Also I don’t think you finished the post.
But all said and done, I think the start is really harsh and you need to guide her not put her down.

  • my step daughter recently moved in with us and teenagers only think about themselves. I have learnt not to expect anything and if i do and it isnt done then i dont do it for her. for example I asked for washing to be bought in from the line (not realising i had to spell out to sort it as well) so i sort the washing and leave hers folded on top of washing machine, if she wants it she has to come looking for it. Dont sweat the small stuff, she may not know how to do things. My step daughter asked me what i used to mop the floors i said the mop … what does that look like was the response i got! this from a girl who apparently cleaned cooked and did everything with her mum. Dont assume they know what they are doing and it will be easier for you and less stressful. Good Luck

  • Teenagers I guess need a lot of guidance at this stage of their life.

  • Teenagers get such a bad rap, and yet many are so great to spend time with.

  • The teen years are certainly challenging. Enjoy your time with her & give her the guidance she is looking for.
