Hello!

Just wanted to express myself a little. See I have two amazing, beautiful good looking and intelligent sons. If I were in India or China, it would be seen as a blessing. Here in Australia however, all I seem to get is comments- “Oh, I’m SO glad I had all girls, boys are far too energetic!” “OH so your pregnant again! It better be a GIRL!” FFS!! I am so sick of all the comments and well wishes- maybe you’ll be lucky this time. My mother said, “Well God has to deal out a certain number of boys and he choose the strong women.” !!! This is all driving me utterly crazy. When I found out I was pregnant for the third time, to be honest, I cried for a month. That is because I would indeed adore a daughter. But another son would be just as adored, just as loved, and I am sick of all the negativity surrounding Mums of boys. I just didn’t want to go through what I am now, which is constant pressure and looks of sympathy I have two boys, and could I shock horror, produce a third? Well damn, Henry the 8th would of at least been happy with me :/

  • Bugger the lot of them!! Boys are awesome!! I’d take boys over girls any day. And there is absolutely no difference in energy levels.

  • My friend really wanted a girl on her third child as she had two boys . I said ask yourself if you want more children first and if God gave you another son would you still be happy ? ! Thank goodness she said yes and she had a girl . It is terrible I agree with this mind of thinking , but it also could be that us humans expect too much and need to be grateful what we already have .

  • It is ridiculous the way society seems to think a mum isn’t happy without a daughter or a dad without a son. I have one little boy and if I were blessed with more children, would be equally happy with either son or daughter. My mum only had girls and my son is her first grandchild and she is always marvelling at the differences between raising girls and boys which is quite lovely for me! I love how energetic and sweet my boy is!

  • Thanks so much! I do, they bring us so much endless joy ( and mess). I have been a bit sad thinking this could be my last pregnancy too, three kids will be a lot to handle all so young, and I’m trying to do Uni from home too. I used to work full time and bring in a lot of dough and know its a big strain on my husband. But I have decided when I finish uni I might have just one more, heh heh. There’s still another 40 years I can work, but can’t wait forever to have kids. I won’t lie, I would like a girl, just to have a chance to parent both, have both worlds to experience. However it’s not about who you choose, its who chooses you, which I am thankful for. I know some Mums go through so much and can’t have kids.

I have two gorgeous boys too and when I was pregnant with No.2 people kept saying “I hope it’s a girl for you”. I don’t understand it either. Why not say “I hope everything goes well and Bub is healthy”? It’s ridiculous to think that just because we have boys we WANT a girl. But there is also the other side, my sister has 2 girls and people said the same to her but for a boy. I am so happy I have 2 healthy beautiful boys and I couldn’t wish for anything more. OH and I was also told the other day “You know they only give boys to those who deserve them!” Ah ok then mate. Enjoy your boys hon and if you happen to have another congrats :) And if you have a girl, Congrats ;-)
