Hello!

When life changed forever with children it was often hard to get out and find any time to exercise. I struggled for a good few years until pre-school and school made it logistically easier to get out and about on my own.

My ‘home exercise’ routine was fairly limited and I really wish I knew then what I know now about stationary bicycle trainers. They are a wonderful invention that holds the front wheel of a normal bike stationary while applying a resistance to the back wheel. It allows you to use a regular bike for exercise in one spot – in the lounge, on the patio etc. so that you can fit in whatever exercise you can during the day.

After wards it packs away to nothing when you want it gone and the bike back in the shed. So much better and more versatile than exercise bicycles that sit in the corner and take up space once you can get out and about!

  • I wish I’d known about them before I bought my dust collecting exercise bike!

  • Oh yeah I know what you’re talking about. I have an elliptical trainer in the back shed. So I don’t need one of these

  • Is this the same as a exercise bike. A bike on a stand that you pedal the same as you would if you were riding an ordinary bicycle??

    • AN exercise bike is a special piece of equipment that you can pedal on (can be quit large and useless for anything else) but a stationary bike trainer is a device onto which you put a regular bike onto and then pedal. The trainer holds your normal bike steady and allows you to change resistance (depending what features you buy) and when you want to take your normal bike off, the trainer packs up to a small size that fits in cupboard etc. The trainer is also a great place to ‘store’ a normal bike since it holds it upright and makes it useable all day, and you can wheel it off should you want to ride onthe road with it.

  • Oh! It looks amazing! I must admit I’ve never seen one. I’ve got a normal stationary bycicle and indeed… I don’t use it much. :-)
