Hello!

I recently purchased a book on-line through a well known site; I spoke with the seller over the phone, and had stated what edition I was after as it is a uni requirement; the seller knew I needed a specific text book, she informed me it was the edition I required. I waited eagerly for the book to arrive by post; when it arrived it wasn’t the edition I required. I guess i should of purchased one from the uni book store in the first place, but I was trying to save money as a single mum. Be careful buying online !!! Its friday the 13th maybe my luck will change.

  • Did you contact the seller? She maybe could have exchanged?! I know my son has been caught a couple of times online buying things. Most recently, he purchased memory sticks claiming to have so many GB of memory. When he got them, they were actually half the GB size. He contacted the seller who sent out extra memory sticks to make up for the missing GBs. He was lucky

  • Often you can purchase used text books via uni at a cheaper price; this is also worth investigating.

  • How frustrating and annoying! It is so time consuming and of course frustrating when this occurs.

  • Oh thats really unlucky. Buying online is risky, but in saying that I am still a fan.

  • How very annoying, especially when you are trying to save money and are excited about its arrival.

  • Most uni’s have a second hand book store where you can usually pick up the titles and editions you need from students who have previously studied your subjects.

  • buying online line you always have o be careful and you do get a lot that are true to their word and you have no problems with but you always get a bad egg. It is even worse that you had spoken to them and they still sent you something you did not want. I hope you pay with pay pal as you do have a buyers protection. You should have wrapped it back up in what it came in and sent it back return to sender for a refund. Always open items so you can pop them back in and send them back so you do not get hit with double postage

  • Thanks for all your support. I’m going to a uni library not to far away where I can sit and read one in the library. I have since seen one on ebay, and I have put a bid in for it; so fingers crossed. Im sure the world would be a better place if there were more honest people.

  • Hoping things work out for you, I have a son that has just finished Uni and i know how much his Uni books cost (very expensive) and he also purchased a couple on line, thankfully he had no troubles though. Do hope they exchange for you or you can manage to resell it. All the best and good luck with your studies.

  • It’s an annoying inconvenence for you especially since you made sure it was all correct but I’m sure they’ll refund the book.just more phone calls & more drama-it’s never ending. Good luck with your studies

  • I’d certainly be looking for a refund. Contact Paypal or your credit card company. This is dishonest.

  • I would contact them and ask for a refund. Unfortunately I’ve learnt the hard way that some sellers will say anything to get your money and not care about the consequences. If you can’t get a refund, try and sell it on to someone else to get the funds to buy the book that you need.

  • I paid $15 for the book and 13 for postage. I contacted website they said it was basically my fault and they advise people to pick up goods they want to purchase; it’s just I’ve lost trust hoping to get the book next week, being a single mum studying books can be expensive..

  • Did you pay via paypal? If so they may help you resolve your problem, either with refud of getting the seller to send you the correct book. Hope this work out for you.
