At the age of seventeen I never expected my life to take such a huge turn and become a mother. But I must say its the greatest thing ever.
It was tough at the start when my Dad wasnt happy about it and being so young but I did it.
My son was born at 31 weeks and was at the hosptial until he was 37 weeks.
Watching my little boy growing up u noticed little differences in him that other kids iv met didnt have. I was told it was normal and that he would catch up. It wasnt until 2 people I know told me that we should get him assessed for Autism.
When we got him checked we discovered that he is in fact Austistic. It was hard but I never loved him less. I loved him more.
Since my sons diagnosis Iv learnt so much about him myself and the community that helps him.
Its tough being beung a young mother and my first being a special needs child but I wouldnt change it for the would. He is everything to me. He alone has taught me so much like a new kind if patience and ways to do things.
He has his meltdowns from over stimulation but its happening less and less.
He is an incredible child making his own milestones and I cherish each and everyone no matter how small it is like doing number 2 on the toilet.
