This young school girl was distressed when she lost one of her teeth at school and accidentally threw it away during a break. But her teacher soon stepped in to help.

Concerned the Tooth Fairy had a ‘no tooth, no payment’ policy, seven-year-old Lily Sciulli approached her teacher for advice.

“She was sobbing uncontrollably when it first happened,” Pennsylvania first grade teacher Laura Roth tells Good Morning America.

Young Lily had written a letter to the Tooth Fairy pleading her case, but thought it wouldn’t be good enough to convince the busy fairy.

Fortunately, Mrs Roth knew exactly what to do to ensure her student didn’t miss out on her tooth money.

“I told her, ‘The Tooth Fairy and I go back 25 years. I’ll get in touch with her, no problem’,” the teacher recalls.

Mrs Roth wrote a letter of her own to the Tooth Fairy, vouching for the existence of her student’s lost tooth.

“I can confirm with full confidence and authority that Lily lost her tooth at school today,” the letter, which was sent home with the little girl after school, begins.

“In the excitement and chaos of lunch time, it was tragically thrown away by accident.”

Mrs Roth concludes the message by asking the Tooth Fairy to consider her note as proof of tooth loss, adding she’s available to answer any further questions.

The letter was shared on Twitter and has since made news in the local area.

  • Well I am certain that Lily will remember her teacher, Mrs. Roth, for the rest of her life. A lovely thing to do for a child and I’m sure Mrs. Roth is loved by all the children she teaches and I’ll bet they remember her classes and do well in them.
