Gift hampers are a perfect present for someone special (or even not that special). They’re easily customisable, but you can still make them generic enough so that you don’t have to be overly personal. That’s an advantage when making gift hampers for people you don’t know that well.

Here are six easy-to-make gift hampers that you can easily make.

1. Chocolate and Champagne Basket

There’s no better combination than chocolate and champagne. If that somebody special has expensive taste, you should build a luxurious hamper. They’ll be able to enjoy their selection with their favorite romantic movie after their kids head to bed. What’s more relaxing than that?

You can include decadent chocolate treats such as cookies, fruit, nuts and popcorn. Choose an array so that your friend has options. Then, you can grab a delicious bottle of champagne that pairs well with sweets so that your friend has a beverage.

You can add flair to your hampers too. Incorporate gold or silver bows and confetti to take your arrangement to another level.

2. Luxury Spa Day Basket

Does someone in your life need pampering? You can gift them a spa day basket. A mum will rarely turn down a chance to relax under a bubble bath. They’ll appear rejuvenated and refreshed as a result.

Here are a few items you can add:

  •       A bath bomb or milk bath product
  •       Body scrub
  •       Body lotion
  •       A bath towel
  •       Facial masks
  •       A manicure or pedicure kit
  •       Candles and matches

You could also provide a gift certificate to a spa, nail or hair appointment. That extra touch will help them feel completely renewed. Unfortunately, your parent friends rarely have a chance to truly care for themselves. You can fix that.

3. Brunch Gift Hampers

There’s nothing better than a late-morning breakfast with cocktails. Therefore, you can seldom go wrong when you gift a brunch kit. If your friend decides to host brunch, you may even get to enjoy your picks alongside them. That’s a win-win for everyone.

Start with food items. You shouldn’t include anything perishable. As a result, you’ll find that mixes and pre-packaged items are best. Try pancake or waffle mix. You can also insert donuts, bagels or croissants. Fruits like grapes, blackberries and figs taste delicious, too.

Then, you can prepare their drink selection. A bloody Mary assortment will be fun and simple to assemble – and that drink is a necessity for brunch, anyway. You can also include tea and coffee products to round out their choices.

4. Tea and Coffee Gift Hampers

Here’s a straightforward yet thoughtful gift basket idea for your tea- or coffee-loving friend. Often, you only need a piping cup of your favorite drink to feel better. This arrangement would be perfect for cold weather months, too.

Take a trip to your supermarket to see what unique products they have. You should include a few classics, but you also have an opportunity to be bold. Therefore, you’ll want to explore products from everywhere so that you can offer a wide assortment.

Don’t forget to include a mug. You can add little snacks or desserts, too.

5. Charcuterie Board Basket

Charcuterie gift hampers typically include various cheeses, fruits, meats, nuts and breads. These platters pair well with wine – and they’re delicious as a snack or meal. Your mum friend will definitely appreciate a high-end basket like this.

You can incorporate these ideas:

  •       Various cheeses like gouda, cheddar and brie
  •       Smoked meats
  •       Different nuts
  •       Dips or spreads
  •       Crusty bread or seasoned crackers
  •       An appropriate wine

This arrangement allows your friend to seriously indulge. Feel free to add chocolate or other sweets to balance the salty and savory flavors of this basket.

5. Movie Night Gift Hampers

A night at the movies may be exactly what your friend needs. You can gift them a kit to have an awesome evening – and they won’t even have to hire a babysitter because they’ll be at home. There are many approaches you can take with this basket idea.

If you know your friend’s favorite movie genre, you should look up the best movies in that category. For example, you may want to include DVDs of “Midsommar” as a recent pick and “Halloween” as a classic if they like horror. You can also provide a gift card for their favorite streaming service.

Then, you can add food. Feel free to go crazy here if they’re into junk food. Include chips, pretzels, candy and more so that they have one night to splurge on their diet. You can also put in the ultimate popcorn selection to help them customise their snacks.

If they prefer a more refined selection, you can combine your charcuterie board basket with your movie night basket. That’s the best of both worlds.

If you want to get your someone special a present, you can’t go wrong with these DIY gift hampers. From a spa day to a movie night and everything in between, your friend will totally appreciate your gesture.

  • I would happily receive a tea gift hamper with special teas…..yum

  • Would love the spa, brunch and charcuterie ones!
I tend to make my own gift hampers as the ones online never seem to fit the things I want to give or they gave a lot of items I know the person I’m buying for won’t really be into.
It’s also a nice personal touch if you make it yourself.

  • I love a hamper and tend to make it suitable to the person I’m preparing it for. My Mum lives on her own and doesn’t need or eat a lot. I made her a care hamper with single treat size items that she could use easily and didn’t require a lot of prep work. She has been talking about it for weeks. Whilst I loved making a chocolate hamper for a friend’s birthday. She loved it. So I think it needs to be really personal and specific to the recipient.

  • I love DIY hampers because they’re more personalised, have better stuff in them and more cost effective. Also keep any cute baskets or boxes you’ve received to reuse!
