The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are believed to have banned their children from using iPads.

It has been reported the royal couple don’t want their kids to become reliant on technology for entertainment and want to encourage them to use their imaginations.

They want to give Prince George and Princess Charlotte as much of a normal upbringing as possible and raise them to be good people.

A source previously told US Weekly: “They’re very much seen as Mummy and Daddy’s toys, not for children.”

“As two people who grew up without gadgets for entertainment themselves, William and Kate are firm believers in toys, outdoor play, and encouraging an active imagination. They’re very much a normal family.”

‘My parents taught me about the importance of qualities like kindness, respect, and honesty, and I realise how central values like these have been to me throughout my life,’ explained Kate to the pupils of Mitchell Brook Primary School in February.

‘That is why William and I want to teach our little children, George and Charlotte just how important these things are as they grow up. In my view it is just as important as excelling at maths or sport.’

Good on them! They are such great role models as parents.

  • yeah that is a great example for being engaged parents. Technology isn’t a demon though and the key is finding balance but i like how they are keeping it simple for their kids

  • Agree with them completely – especially at their ages.

  • Good on them. Mine have specific days they can use their games. I would never say never as it is part of this time but my kids had game day yesterday and spent it out playing basketball and taking turns checking flight radar.

  • Good move I reckon, my kid is much nicer with less technology.

  • It is so hard in this day and age to limit the use of technological devices, they are everywhere and used by everyone, with so much peer pressure by others …. but there should always be a controlled management to maintain a happy medium!

  • I certainly agree with sharply limiting time of use.

  • I believe that is fair enough considering their age.

  • It really annoys me seeing children from toddler age up playing electronic games when they are visiting or have visitors, even more so if the are the guest of honour. The blue light that radiates from the screens is dangerous for the sight and brain of youngsters. That is another reason why you should not sit too close to TVs. My parents were told that over 30 years ago by an eye specialist.

    • There is no need for technology when there are visitors – totally agree with you.

  • We don’t even own a tablet and my almost 4 year old has certainly never used one. And he’s fantastic to take out. He also doesn’t get to play with my phone. I paid $700 for it. No way am I letting a child use it.

  • I agree completely with them. I really don’t like seeing young kids with iPads or even their own phone.
