How many times have you thought to yourself ‘I look terrible today!’? How would you feel if you were brave enough to put up a video of yourself on YouTube and people told you that they thought you looked disgusting? One beauty blogger did just that and the comments she has received, you wouldn’t wish on your worst enemy.

This is one video that everyone needs to see, it’s strong, it’s powerful and it’s real. Beauty blogger Em Ford, recently posted this video to her YouTube channel shaming commenters who had taunted her. The comments are unbelievably hurtful and it has a profound impact on Em Ford as you can see in this clip.

Em has released this video to promote the message of ‘you are beautiful, no matter what’ and it’s one message I am certainly going to be sharing with my two little girls.

The part of this video that throws me the most is the fact that even when Em has a full face of make-up there are still haters out there, saying nasty hurtful comments. It seems that no matter what you do, there will always be an army of ‘keyboard warriors’ who can sit in the comfort of their own homes, hiding behind their computers, tablets and phones abusing people who are MUCH braver than them. At what point does this despicable behavior start to spill out into the ‘real’ world?

When did society become so nasty and hateful? How on earth am I going to equip my children to deal with nastiness like this? SHARE your thoughts with us in the comments below.

  • I just treat others how i like to be treated. my daughter doesnt even here me call myself nasty names if i can help it, like oh i feel fat or am fat etc
If my daughter uses the word fat i tell his its not a nice way of speaking about someone and she should use Big instead, i was bullied at school alot so I just want my children to not be bullied or grow up thinking its ok to bully someone on there looks.

  • How awful to say these things and how brave is Em?
This is one reason that I don\’t want to get involved in \’Socal\’ media – it appears to be far too negative for me.

  • You know its an interesting thing that I can remember my mother making a comment many years ago when Princess Anne had given birth to her first child and was leaving the hospital. In those days it was pre baby car seats and Princess Anne sat in the back seat while holding the baby and her husband drive the car. The media commented about her sitting in the back seat away from her husband. My Mum said “No matter what she did she couldnt win…if she had sat in the front holding the baby I bet they would have said that she should have put her seat belt on but would the baby be safe if there was an accident. She sat in the back so the baby was safer” ( such was the thoughts of the day) …..
I think people have always been negative and bitchy its just that now they can do it and feel that no one knows who they are so they can be even more nasty.

    Such a powerful message.
People can be so mean when they hide themselves behind social media.
    Unacceptable.
    Such a brave person.

  • It\’s disgusting what people said about this woman, especially since they are hiding behind the anonymity of the internet. But I am not surprised.
I try to teach my kids its not about looks, but what is inside that counts. I hope it makes a difference.
