The International Association of Professional Birth Photographers is proud to announce the winners of the 2019 Image of the Year Competition.

Winners were chosen on a point system and judged on technicality, emotionality and composition.

  • Thanks for sharing these photographs – many early mums would have no idea about the births of their babies as only the doctor and a nurse was allowed into the ward [in my day of 12 people] all giving birth at the same time. I remember apologising for screaming to the nurse at my bedside only to be told – honey if you had screamed you would have been so much better off – the screaming you heard was from bed 9.
