Hello!

It’s not easy to choose a favourite! When you’re an avid Aldi shopper, selecting your pick of the products is a difficult task. But it just has to be done. So here is the official list of the top must-have Aldi items to fill your trolley.

Aldi has announced the results of The People’s Picks for 2020, an annual award program to uncover Australia’s most loved ALDI products.

This year, the discount chain received over 300,000 votes for products that Aldi shoppers just can’t live without.

Our favourite must-have Aldi products

After weeks of voting for their favourite items, the discount supermarket has revealed the winners of the top must-have Aldi products across 10 categories, which this year are based on the different activities we all do at home.

And the BIG Winner Is….

The ultimate winner of shoppers’ most popular must-have Aldi product is Essential Health Paw Paw Ointment ($2.79). This soothing balm nabbed the top spot with the most overall votes as well as getting the nod for the best product with The Daily Glow category. With so many different uses from soothing chapped lips, to dry and inflamed skin at such a great affordable price, it’s a clear favourite for Aldi customers.

In the BBQ Boss category, the winner was The Fishmonger Fresh Salmon Fillet four pack ($11.99), which surprisingly beat more meaty competitors such as the Jindurra Beef Eye Fillet.

If you want to stretch your dollars even further, look no further than our real MVP (most valuable product). The winner of this best-value category was Beautifully Butterfully Salted Butter for only $2.79.

When it comes to cheese, Aldi can’t be beaten. In fact, it was Aldi’s Emporium Selection Brie and Camembert Cheese (priced at a very economical $4.49) which won the ‘Life of the Party’ category. This cheese is by far my favourite and I can’t resist popping a wheel or three into my trolley whenever I’m shopping.

It’s no surprise that much-lauded cleaning ‘miracle’ product Di San Oxy Action PreWash Stain Remover 500ml ($1.29) was awarded the crown in the ‘Cleaning Whizz’ category. This spot-out solution has been the subject of thousands of posts on social media as people share the remarkable cleaning capabilities of this top-value product.

Aldi is also well known for its well-priced nuts and dried fruit. So when it came to the ‘Healthy Guru’ category, Forresters’ Natural Almonds ($9.99) received the most votes.

When it comes to lunchboxes, you clearly can’t leave out Blackstone Vegetable Straws ($2.29) which has been voted The ultimate Lunchbox Legend.

Planning to spend the day on the couch with Netflix, then make sure you pick up the Monarc Utopia Mini Variety Pack, a 12-pack of ice-creams for only $4.99. This product won ‘The Couch Companion’ award.

Put These Products On Your List!

“Once a product is on the shelf, we are certain that it is of the highest quality, for a fraction of the price. The People’s Picks is our way of saying “you don’t have to take our word for it,” Aldi’s shopping expert Nicole Higgins said.

“This year’s picks are excellent recommendations and certainly items that should be on everyone’s shopping list.”

  • Sorry – don’t shop at Aldi and I most certainly wouldn’t buy most of the top 10 listed. The store might be OK if you have a family – but with their profits going overseas instead of staying in this country it puts me off shopping there.

  • We dont have Aldi here. I love shopping with my son, in Vic, in Aldi and am always surprised at how much cheaper they are compared to Coles and Woolies. So much cheaper yet the quality isn’t compromised

  • I’m not a regular ALDI shopper as it just wasn’t convenient. However, when I have or see something awesome and someone says it’s from Aldi, I’m definitely there to buy it. Word of mouth is the best way I think in terms of what I will buy from there.

  • Yes best place to shop. I love their tomato sauce as well. The Di-San stain remover is a staple in this household with kids playing sport. I cannot be without it. It is awesome. A lot of their meat is awesome too, porter house steaks, pork roast, beef roast, corned beef, salami, devon, milk, bread, sour cream, cheeses, yoghurts and their fruit and veg. I could go on and on!

  • Good list and helpful to have the prices. I occasionally forget about Aldi, so a reminder to check their products, especially their cleaning and beauty range.
