Hello!

Dinner time in the my household is sometimes a challenge. There are threats, bribes and often tears… tonight seemed to be heading in the same direction in the Grandparents household.

Master 4 was not eating his dinner and was becoming ruder with statements such as ‘I won’t say hello to you Mummy when you go anywhere.’ Saying ‘I don’t want to have a sleepover at Nana’s house’ meant a trip to time out with tears naturally occurring.

  • Aww, cute, I’ve never heard of using the tummy as an excuse, creative kid.

  • When we are at Nan and Pop’s house they take charge of the kids and their manners etc.
Being rude would not have been accepted at all. Nan has a way with words that, that tummy would not be welcome next time. Johnny would but not that tummy!

  • Well, we all like to be well thought of don’t we? It’s just that little children haven’t developed the sophisticated reasons we adults like to use to redeem a situation. Children aren’t the only ones though who come up with ways not to take responsibility or to avoid consequences. Politicians and celebrities are often caught out in questionable situations and come up with unusual explanations.

  • Kids say the best things. Bet you had to try and smuggle the laughter.

  • Ah what an imagination some children have. As long as the “tummy” excuse doesn’t become a regular fall-back for naughty behaviour and rude words, I guess it’s o.k.
