With self-isolation well underway, Nickelodeon has pulled together the ultimate Isolation Survival Guide to keep the kids busy and to stop parents from pulling their hair out.

Nickelodeon has launched #KidsTogether, a multiplatform, global prosocial initiative to help kids and families stay safe and keep busy at home! Nickelodeon’s popular characters and talent, including SpongeBob SquarePants, Blue’s Clues & You!, Henry Danger, and Bubble Guppies, are doing their part to help educate kids on how to practice social distancing and demonstrate proper hand-washing techniques.

We’ve also compiled plenty of fun activities to do together at home.

Washing Your Hands and Maintaining Hygiene

Parents – perhaps SpongeBob SquarePants will encourage kids to regularly wash their hands without the constant reminders!

Check out these Washing Tips courtesy of Bubble Guppies and SpongeBob SquarePants!

Educational + DIY activities

Who doesn’t like DIY craft? To make sure your kids are still learning every day, Nickelodeon has come up with some simple, but educational ways to keep the kids preoccupied, no matter their age.

Try making the ULTRA glitter-y DIY Unicorn Slime or the SUPER-cool DIY bird feeders … or if you are feeling brave, venture into the kitchen. Kick off the day cooking and creating with The Breakfast Parfait or enjoy these Speedy Sandwiches (seriously, check these out!)

What About Pre-Schoolers?

For the pre-schoolers at home, Nick Jr. has enough activities for every day of the week.

Visit Nick Jr.com.au/create for plenty of colouring sheets, crosswords, and puzzles, STEM Activity Packs AND special Easter activities for the long weekend.

Movement

Did someone say recess? Make sure your pre-schoolers are getting in their daily exercise by dancing around the living room!

Playing daily from 10am – 12pm on Nick Jr., Aussie series, READY SET DANCE is a participatory dance program bursting with energy and designed to inspire pre-schoolers to be active at home, all while developing their confidence, coordination and creativity. And it’s not just for kids, parents can get involved too!

Never seen an episode? Check out what READY SET DANCE is all about here and here, and make sure to catch more episodes on Nick Jr.

  • Its funny but when i was a kid hand washing was a big thing and somewhere along the line it just seemed to peter out. Often used to see parents giving their kids something to eat without washing their hands first, etc. Im glad that its back
