The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is set to be one of the biggest events of the year and it’s happening this weekend.

In Australian the ceremony is at the prime time of 9pm on Saturday.

If you’re planning a royal wedding party, here are all the key times and places to watch it:

WHERE and when the wedding proceedings taking place

The wedding ceremony will be held in St George’s Chapel, inside the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The public guests will begin arriving at Windsor Castle about 6pm AEST (9am local time).

The main wedding guests will begin arriving from 6.30pm AEST. (9:30am-11am local time)

Members of the royal family are expected to start arriving by foot and car around 8.20pm.   (11:20am local time)

Prince Harry and his best man, Prince William, to arrive on the chapel’s west steps.  8:45pm AEST (11:45am local time)

The Queen arrives followed closely by the bride just before the ceremony begins.  8:55pm AEST (11:55am local time) 

The wedding of the year will begin. 9:00pm AEST (midday local time)

From 10:00pm AEST (1:00pm local time)

The couple will leave the chapel once the ceremony is over and speak to 200 representatives from charities Prince Harry is associated with.

From 11:00pm AEST (2:00pm local time)

It’s time for the first of two receptions of the day. This first reception will be held in St George’s Hall inside the castle.

From 4:00am, Sunday AEST (7:00pm local time)

This is the second reception of the day and it’s being held at Frogmore House. Only 200 guests have got an invite to this more intimate gathering.

Where to watch it in Australia

Nearly all of the main free-to-air channels will be broadcasting the wedding from either 7pm or 7.30pm on Saturday.

ABC: Tune in from 7.30pm AEST, where Annabel Crabb and Jeremy Fernandez will be providing coverage live from London.

SBS: Switch on at 7:30pm AEST for coverage from Myf Warhurst, comedian Joel Creasey and Ray Martin

Channel 7: There’ll be live coverage from Melissa Doyle and Michael Usher from 7pm AEST.

Channel 9: Karl Stefanovic and Georgie Gardner will be covering the event from 7pm AEST.

Channel 10: From 7.30pm AEST, the lovely Lisa Wilkinson will be covering the Royal Wedding live from Windsor Castle and St George’s Chapel.

  • Im glad they are happy but its a little bit of a shame it didnt work out as was hoped. One of the reasons he said he was marying her is because he knew she would be good in the role as a royal….ooppss

  • Doubt I will be up at that time to watch the wedding live, but I’m sure it will be all over the news shows the next morning. At least Harry looks happier than he has done for a while. Do hope it all works out for this young man.

  • I hope to watch it from my couch at home. I’m looking forward to it and am very excited for them both. Let’s just bring it on so we no longer have to be bombarded with all these stories of Megan’s family etc.

  • Here in WA it will all start around 6-6:30 pm thus. Nice. Good time. Yes, I think I will be watching it!!
