Hello!

You know things are getting real when our favourite kids’ band The Wiggles cancel their concerts due to Coronavirus fears.

Parents, who had secured tickets to the popular Fun and Games touring show were in turmoil whether they should still attend the events.

Well, the decision has been taken out of their hands as the Wiggles have released an announcement on their facebook page saying that they will be postponing the rest of the Sydney shows.

Postpone The Show

The statement reads:

“Hello everyone- As the situation with Coronavirus (Covid-19) is ever evolving and recommendations are changing on a daily basis, we have now made the decision to postpone the remaining Sydney shows of our Fun And Games Tour.”

The following shows are affected:

14th March – Club Marconi, Bossley Park
15th March – Revesby Workers Club, Revesby
17th March – The Cube, Campbelltown
18th March – Hornsby RSL, Hornsby
19th March – Sutherland Entertainment Centre, Sutherland
21st March – Penrith Panthers Club, Penrith
22nd March – Penrith Panthers Club, Penrith
24th March – North Sydney Leagues Club, North Sydney
25th March – Hurstville Entertainment Centre, Hurstville
26th March – Riverside Theatres, Parramatta
28th March – Pittwater RSL, Mona Vale
29th March – Castle Hill RSL, Castle Hill
30th March – Enmore Theatre, Newtown
31st March – The Concourse, Chatswood

“We are disappointed we won’t be able to perform for you and know how excited your little Wiggles fans were to see the show. We appreciate your understanding that these situations can evolve so quickly and we have a duty of care to do what is in the best interest of our audience and employees,” The Wiggles statement read.

Ony Sydney For Now!

“As of today (13/03/20) we are only postponing the Sydney leg of the tour however we are closely monitoring the situation with Coronavirus (Covid-19) and advice provided by the Australian Government Department of Health. We are responding appropriately as the situation evolves and will provide further updates on our website with regards to the rest of the tour.”

“We will let you know the rescheduled Sydney show dates as soon as we can. All tickets purchased for the March dates will be honoured for the rescheduled dates. If you are unable to attend when the new dates are announced and wish to obtain a refund, please contact the venue you purchased tickets from. If a new show date is unable to be scheduled, you will receive a full refund.”

This is obviously the most responsible action to take at this time, but there will still be hundreds of disappointed Wiggles fans out there.

  • They weren’t coming to tassie, but I wouldn’t have bought tickets anyway. No one to go with

  • That’s great

  • An excellent move, pleased for the children that they are only postponing and not cancelling.

    Reply

  • No, I don’t but I imagine this is just one of many concerts that will be cancelled based on the new rules.

  • Very good decision

  • Good on you Wiggles! It’s better to be safe than sorry, especially with children involved. And well done rescheduling instead of cancelling. A logistical nightmare I’m sure but you’ll be keeping your tiny little fans happy!

  • at least they are only postponed and not cancelled, the hardest part will be dealing with the disappointed children and trying to explain why without scaring them

    Reply

  • Yes it is the right thing to do, just explaining why the children can not go to the show they are looking forward to will be the hard bit.

    Reply

  • It will be much safer for the families for now. I’m sure they will reschedule as soon as they can.

    Reply

  • I know that so many children will be devastated at the show being cancelled but it is a responsible action they are taking. I don’t have tickets to any of their shows because all of my family members are adults.

    Reply

  • Oh this is disappointing, yet probably wise.

    Reply

  • Definitely for the best given they are just kids!
